New horizons: Kazakhstan presented the economic potential of Norway

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Norway in collaboration with the East Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Norway (East CCI or “Østhandelskammeret”) held an economic seminar in Oslo. The event aimed to present trade, industrial and investment potential of Kazakhstan for Norwegian business community, DKNews.kz reports.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Adil Tursunov, alongside with Marit Hiim Haugseth, Chair of the East CCI’ Board of Directors, warmly welcomed all participants. The representatives of Kazakh and Norwegian companies, including “National company “Aktau Sea Port” JSC, “Organic Fish”, “Semurg Invest” and “Agricultural Cooperative of the Norwegian regions of Rogaland and Agder” (“Felleskjøpet Rogaland Agder”) also made their presentations.

The Norwegian Ambassador to Kazakhstan (with residence in Oslo) John Mikal Kvistad, representatives of the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries as well as the managers of the local companies operating in various spheres (aquaculture, transport and logistics, agriculture, energy, etc.) took part in the Q&A session.

On the same day, businessmen from the two countries had the opportunity to discuss specific projects during B2B meetings.

In general, the event provided a comprehensive overview of existing and potential Kazakh-Norwegian collaborations across various industries and demonstrated a mutual interest in enhancing economic interaction between Astana and Oslo.

Following the results of the round table, a Norwegian business delegation is planning to visit Kazakhstan this autumn.
