Kazakhstan will assist in the development of e-government in Sierra Leone

The transfer of the e-Gov digital components took place through KazAID grant assistance at the Sierra Leone Innovates 2024 Summit in Freetown, DKNews.kz reports.

The export of Kazakh IT solutions became possible by a previously signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Communications, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Sierra Leone. As part of the agreement, the Kazakh side transferred the following services: "Showcase of Smart Bridge Services", "Unified Platform of Government Websites" and "Smart Data Ukimet" information and analytical system.

The export of our e–government modules is an indicator of our digital ecosystem viability and the result of work done by local specialists. Currently, the Kazakh delegation is assessing the digital maturity of the country's ICT infrastructure for further successful implementation of Kazakh IT solutions. This visit demonstrates a high level of confidence in domestic developments and marks the geographical expansion of the presence of Kazakh digital solutions beyond the continent.

It should be reminded that today Kazakhstan holds high positions in international e-government rankings. According to the United Nations E-Government Survey, our country ranks 28th out of 193 countries in the UN Global E-Government Development Index, and 8th in the Quality of Online Services Index.

Note: Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa that is rich in natural resources, including diamonds, gold and titanium. The capital and largest city is Freetown. The population of Sierra Leone is about 8 million people.
