On July 11 and 12, Almaty Theatre presents the premiere of the ballet triptych "Sacred Dances", DKnews.kz reports.

Choreographer Mukaram Avakhri and the talented soloists of the Astana Ballet delve into the theme of spiritual connections through the language of contemporary dance. The triptych is conceived as a multifaceted work intertwining various cultural and historical layers.

The first part of the triptych, "Wedding" set to Igor Stravinsky's music, reveals the hidden thoughts and feelings of newlyweds, transforming the wedding into a profound ritual. This year marks the 101st anniversary of Stravinsky's ballet "Wedding", reopening the world of its messages and revelations. In the choreographer's interpretation, this ballet takes on new meanings, infused with contemporary significance.

The second part, "QASH", reflects on how culture transcends defined boundaries, always in motion. Peoples' histories are never written once and for all; they are eternal improvisations, each moment filled with meaning. This segment features the composition "Le Retour de Molla Nasr’din" by Chemirani and the vocal performance of Mushtari Islamova. Artistic concept by Guzel Zakir enhances this part with a distinct visual style that amplifies the impact on stage.

The concluding part, "Ruh", immerses the audience in the world of ancestors and their perpetual pursuit of movement and unity with nature. The atmosphere of bygone eras fills the space, evoking a sense of the sacred and the unfathomable. Through this miniature, audiences feel the connection across time and how modernity intertwines with images of the past and the lost. The contrast, at times seemingly incompatible, intensifies the effect of a captivating journey through time. Thanks to the music of Abylai Abilqasymuly and Bugarabu, along with the vocal part by Venera Urazbekova, audiences experience unity with the narrative and mood of the production, understanding the profound spiritual connection with our ancestors.

The triptych "Sacred Dances" prompts contemplation of eternal questions and invites the audience to immerse themselves in the world of spiritual and cultural values. Through dance and music, a profound introspection prompts a search for answers to timeless questions about who we are and why we are here. The incredible musical rhythms, expressive costumes, and the mastery of the Astana Ballet artists create an atmosphere that allows audiences to delve into the world of sacred dance, where everyone will find something familiar and inspiring.
