Carlsberg to Implement New Production of Soft Drinks in Kazakhstan, DKnews.kz reports

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, and Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “Kazakh Invest” Yerzhan Yelekeyev met with President of Carlsberg Kazakhstan Vyacheslav Maltsev, during which the parties discussed the company’s plans to expand its activities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

Thus, Maltsev noted the favorable investment climate in Kazakhstan and told the Kazakh representatives about the new, promising Carlsberg Kazakhstan project for the production of soft drinks. The company plans long-term investments in Kazakhstan, which will meet the needs of local and foreign markets. For the implementation of the project, Carlsberg is considering the Almaty and Turkestan regions, as well as the city of Shymkent.

Currently, the company is at the final stage of approving investments in the region and needs support and assistance to accelerate the launch and implementation of the project.

In response, Kuantyrov informed investors about state support measures and the country’s investment climate:

We are actively working to support all our investors. Our goal is to create the most favorable conditions for the successful implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan. In this regard, we are ready to provide you with all necessary assistance in solving current issues and removing other barriers.”

At the meeting, the parties also agreed to cooperate to ensure that the Danish company’s products enter the markets of neighboring countries.

Over the past few years, Carlsberg Kazakhstan has consistently been among the TOP 50 largest taxpayers in Kazakhstan, having invested more than 213 million UD dollars in the country’s beverage industry. In April this year, the Danish company opened a new production facility worth 50 million US dollars in Almaty. The plant’s launch ensures 100% localization of brewing and non-alcoholic products for the needs of the Kazakh market, creating additional export opportunities to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Belarus. Carlsberg Kazakhstan provides jobs for about 600 employees of the production in Almaty and over 2,000 employees of the regional hub and distribution companies in the regions of Kazakhstan.
