Areas of Cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) were Discussed at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, DKnews.kz reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the Steering Committee on Coordinating the Development of the Cooperation Program between the Government of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for 2026-2030.
The event with the participation of government bodies’ representatives and UNICEF experts was co-chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Akan Rakhmetullin and the Head of the UNICEF Country Office Rashed Sarwar.
Rakhmetullinhighly appreciated the jointeffortsemphasizing on the establishment of the OmbudspersonforChildren’s Rights, the introduction of the Child Well-being Index, the launch of the “NationalFund for Children” program,strictermeasuresforallforms of violenceagainstchildren.“The adoption of theselegislativeandinstitutionalmeasuresispart of President Tokayev’s reform agendaaimedatbuilding a fairandopensociety,”Rakhmetullin stated.
Sarwarnotedthat the newCooperation Programbetween the Government of the Republic of KazakhstanandUNICEFreflects the sharedgoals to advancing children’s rights.“By investingintheireducation,healthcareand overall well-being,we are laying a solidfoundationfortheirfuturelivesandmakingstrategicinvestmentstodevelop the country’s leadershipin the regionandaroundtheworld,”hesaid.
