Last weekend, the Astana Ballet Theatre opened its doors to genuine admirers of classical music, giving listeners an unforgettable evening of symphonic and instrumental art as part of the unique project “NAMES”, DKnews.kz reports.
The “Names” project aims to bring together a selection of the most renowned soloists and exceptional musicians from Kazakhstan, who have become ambassadors of our country’s musical culture on the global stage.
As part of the “Names” project, the distinguished figures in the field of Kazakhstani classical music performed concerts. The performers, Amir Tebenikhin, Jania Aubakirova and Marat Bisengaliev, have achieved great success both within Kazakhstan and on the global stage.
The organizers of the last concert prepared thoroughly for the selection of the repertoire: in the first part of the musical evening, the famous “Symphony No. 8” (Unfinished) by Franz Schubert was performed by the symphony orchestra of the theatre.
On the same evening, the Astana Ballet Theatre hosted a performance by the representatives of contemporary musical time, laureates of international competitions, whose international reputations are well-established. These included the violinist Kalamkas Jumabayeva, the cellist Ermek Kurmanayev, and the pianist Amir Tebenikhin, who is the Honoured Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The performance also featured the symphony orchestra. They masterfully performed the Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano, also known as the Triple Concerto, written by Ludwig van Beethoven back in 1803. According to music experts, this piece is akin to a dialogue between three individuals, wherein three distinct characters coalesce into a single entity, harmoniously synchronised with the orchestral performance.
In the musical history, the Triple Concerto is recognized as one of the greatest works for soloists and orchestra. Its intricacy and elegance are widely celebrated among performers, and its dramatic evolution and technical mastery continue to enthral audiences.
In fact, it was not easy to combine three of the most outstanding soloists living in different parts of the world in one concert, due to the schedules of their concerts and performances. The three soloists were united by a shared goal: to present the audience with high art and the triumph of symphonic music. They therefore began rehearsals with the symphony orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theatre with great pleasure” Arman Urazgaliyev, chief conductor of the Astana Ballet Theatre
Amir Tebenikhin, a renowned pianist and winner of the Grand Prix of the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition in Portugal and the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, has expressed his gratitude to the Astana Ballet Theatre for another opportunity to perform on the same stage as part of the “Names” project.
“It is of the utmost importance to acquaint our listeners with the masterpieces of musical culture, and Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano is undoubtedly one such masterpiece. I am pleased that this music is being played here, and that the audience enjoyed the concert” Amir Tebenikhin
Amir Tebenikhin also noted the significance of Ludwig van Beethoven in his musical development, recognising the composer as a foundational figure for any true classical musician.
It was very nice to see my students among the musicians of the Astana Ballet Theatre Symphony Orchestra. Consequently, the instilled love of classical music is proving to be a fruitful endeavour” Тhe renowned cellist, a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, winner of national and international competitions Ermek Kurmanaev
The distinguished violinist Kalamkas Jumabayeva, a laureate of international competitions, shared her sentiments, expressing her ease in sharing the stage with musicians, performing music, and being in a unified creative impulse.
The “Names” project is ongoing and will shortly provide audiences with concerts featuring distinguished musicians and artists.
