The National Guard of Kazakhstan has proposed the development and approval of a Tactical Medicine Protocol and the expansion of telemedicine services for military personnel, DKnews.kz reports.
This initiative was discussed during an interagency meeting attended by representatives of the medical services of the Armed Forces, other troops, and military formations of Kazakhstan.
"Tactical medicine is a set of measures applied in emergency situations, aimed at saving lives and preventing complications for wounded and injured servicemen. The core principle of tactical medicine is the 'golden hour,' which states that medical assistance must be provided within the first 60 minutes of an injury, significantly increasing survival rates" Explained Yerek Aklasov, a medical specialist from the National Guard
To achieve this goal, plans are underway to develop and approve a modern Tactical Medicine Protocol that will establish advanced first aid standards in crisis situations. This will enable servicemen to provide medical assistance during natural and man-made emergencies, disaster relief operations, and mass unrest, ultimately reducing mortality rates and enhancing security both domestically and internationally.
Practical training courses in tactical medicine are already being conducted at the capital’s military unit 5573, where servicemen from the law enforcement troops are being trained in emergency medical response skills.
This training will allow military personnel to act effectively in combat situations and apply their skills in civilian life as well. The initiative will not only enhance their overall readiness but also enable them to save lives even after completing their service.
Additionally, the roundtable discussion addressed the possibility of introducing telemedicine in military units. This would allow servicemen to receive remote consultations from military medical specialists through a centralized database.
The project aims to facilitate real-time communication with doctors via audio and video conferencing in emergency situations.
The development of tactical medicine and the implementation of telemedicine technologies mark a significant step toward creating a modern and effective military medical system in Kazakhstan.
