JSC “State Technical Service” warns about cases of fraud using numbers starting with +870, DKnews.kz reports.

This telephone code +870 belongs to Inmarsat satellite communications, which is used for communication at sea, in the air and in remote regions. However, attackers actively use such numbers to deceive, as they are visually similar to Kazakhstani numbers.

Scammers may also use other similar Inmarsat codes.:

+870 is the General Network Access code (SNAC).
+871 is the Atlantic Ocean, East (AOR-E).
+872 is the Pacific Region (POR).
+873 — Indian Ocean (IOR).
+874 — Atlantic Ocean, West (AOR-W).
The +870 phone code is common, and it is used when it is not known which satellite calls are being made through. However, SNAC does not support calls to Inmarsat-A terminals.

Do not call back unknown numbers with the code +870 and others like that!
Do not provide personal information, SMS codes, or your bank card information.
If you are required to provide a code or any information from such a number, this is a clear sign of fraud. Never share any information!
Be vigilant and careful!
