A Kazakh Education Center has officially opened in the city of Alanya, Türkiye. The new center is set to become an important space for learning the Kazakh language, arts and traditions abroad, DKNews.kz reports.
The opening ceremony brought together representatives of local authorities, community organizations, members of the Kazakh diaspora and city residents.
“Preserving the language is our responsibility to future generations”
In his welcoming remarks, Kuat Kanafeev, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Antalya, emphasized that preserving the native language abroad and passing it on to children is one of the key priorities.
He noted that the opening of the center in Alanya will:
- strengthen cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye
- help preserve language, traditions and history
- keep young people connected to their heritage

Language, dance and togyzkumalak
The ceremony featured the official launch of three cultural and educational areas:
- a Kazakh language classroom
- a Kazakh dance studio
- a section dedicated to the national intellectual game togyzkumalak
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests visited the classrooms, learned about the programs and watched musical and stage performances.

Local residents had the opportunity to discover elements of Kazakhstan’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Cultural diplomacy in action
Kuat Kanafeev highlighted the importance of the project as a tool of cultural diplomacy and a way to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

He expressed gratitude to:
- the local administration for providing space and supporting the initiative
- organizers and volunteers for their contribution to the cultural life of Kazakhs living abroad
According to him, the center will give a new impulse to the promotion of Kazakh culture in the region.
Looking ahead
In the future, the center plans to open a class for learning the dombra, which will further expand its programs and introduce local youth to traditional Kazakh music.
The opening of the Kazakh Education Center in Alanya became an important event for the Kazakh community and once again highlighted the cultural closeness between the Kazakh and Turkish peoples.
