Kazakhstan and Israel are expanding cooperation in environmental protection, green technologies and municipal waste recycling, DKNews.kz reports.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Israel, Daulet Emberdiev, visited The Hiriya Recycling Park, a major facility that serves the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.

What makes the Israeli model stand out
During the visit, the Ambassador met with Gil Livne, CEO of the Gush Dan Cities Association, and Reuven Ladiansky, Chairman of the Association’s Board and Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv.

They shared the story of Hiriya’s transformation: from a massive landfill into a modern eco-park where waste is turned into a valuable resource and reused efficiently.
Key projects that drew attention
Particular interest was sparked by:
- the RDF facility that turns waste into fuel for industrial companies
- Hiriya’s Environmental Education Center, where schoolchildren, students and visitors learn about environmental responsibility

This approach combines advanced technology with public education, shaping a culture of environmental awareness from a young age.
Next steps in cooperation
Following the visit, both sides agreed to establish closer contacts between:
- relevant ministries
- interested municipalities
- business communities of both countries
to exchange best practices and launch joint projects in urban ecology and household waste recycling.

In doing so, Kazakhstan is strengthening international cooperation on the green agenda and gaining access to proven technologies already working successfully in Israel.
