A meeting in Algeria at first looked like routine diplomacy, but in reality it went much deeper. Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Algeria Anuarbek Akhmetov held talks with Minister of Communication Zohair Bouamama. The discussion focused not only on cooperation, but also on how to build a modern information policy and strengthen public trust in government, DKNews.kz reports.
The President’s interview sparked genuine interest
The Kazakh side shared the President’s interview titled “Kazakhstan has entered a new stage of modernization.”

The document was studied carefully. In Algeria, officials highlighted Kazakhstan’s achievements in shaping the country’s ideological and information framework. It’s not about slogans here, but about a systematic approach.
Zohair Bouamama noted that the key ideas from the interview, as well as the reforms underway in Kazakhstan, will be covered by Algeria’s leading media outlets. In effect, Kazakhstan is seen as a case study in how to explain change to society and communicate a development strategy.
Principles of domestic policy as a practical tool
The Algerian side also received a translation of the “Main principles, values and directions of Kazakhstan’s domestic policy.”
The document generated strong interest. The minister praised the thoughtful and balanced approach of Kazakhstan’s leadership, adding that these materials can be used in real day-to-day work.

Why this matters to Algeria
Kazakhstan and Algeria have more in common than it might seem:
- resource-based economies,
- complex geopolitical environments,
- rising global risks,
- the need to remain stable in a fast-changing world.
Against this backdrop, Algeria openly expressed interest in studying and adapting Kazakhstan’s most successful practices, including external information work and priority-setting in domestic policy.

Partnership moving to a new level
The sides also discussed plans ahead:
- exchanges of official and expert delegations,
- cooperation between foreign ministries,
- collaboration between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information and Algeria’s Ministry of Communication,
- development of a legal and regulatory framework.
This is no longer just protocol. It’s about real exchange of experience and joint projects.
In a time of global turbulence
The Algerian side emphasized that Kazakhstan’s experience in building both domestic and foreign policy is especially relevant now, as the world faces instability.
For Kazakhstan, this is another chance to strengthen its position internationally.
For Algeria, it’s an opportunity to learn from practices that have already shown results.
