The issuance of visas at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine has been temporarily suspended. Diplomats noted that the service will be resumed later, and additional information will be announced in due course, DKNews.kz reports.
At the same time, a temporary alternative option has been made available for Ukrainian citizens who urgently need a Kazakh visa.
Where Ukrainians can apply for a visa now
Those who need to obtain a visa to Kazakhstan can currently submit their documents to: The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau).
One important detail:
A residence permit in Moldova is not required.
However, the invitation letter must clearly state:
“Place of visa issuance – Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau).”
Documents and appointment
Applicants must:
- prepare a full set of documents according to the visa category they are requesting
- book an appointment in advance online
Online booking is available through the official website of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Moldova.
On the same website, applicants can also find:
- visa procedures and rules
- lists of required documents
- other up-to-date guidance and explanations
What about other neighboring countries?
In other countries bordering Ukraine, Ukrainian citizens may submit visa applications only if they hold documents confirming permanent residence in that country.
Without permanent residency, documents will not be accepted.
What happens to invitations issued for Kyiv
Invitations that indicate:
“Place of visa issuance – Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine / Kyiv”
remain valid for the entire period specified in the invitation.
They may be used to apply for a visa in Kyiv once consular services resume.
However, it is important to note:
- the validity periods stated in the invitation will not be extended
- invitations that list “Ukraine / Kyiv” as the place of issuance cannot be used for submitting documents in Moldova or in other countries
Information on the resumption of visa services at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine will be announced separately.
