Kazakhstan has reached a historic milestone in international tennis. The country is now officially represented in the world Top 10 rankings in both men’s (ATP) and women’s (WTA) tennis, joining a very small group of nations to achieve this distinction. At present, only the United States and Italy share the same dual representation, DKNews.kz reports.

This breakthrough is the result of sustained success by the leaders of Kazakhstan’s national teams and reflects the steady rise of the country’s tennis system on the global stage.

Elena Rybakina: A Permanent Force in the World’s Top Five

Kazakhstan’s No.1 women’s player Elena Rybakina continues to demonstrate remarkable consistency at the highest level. At the start of 2026, she holds 5th place in the WTA rankings, firmly establishing herself among the world’s elite.

Her long-term presence in the Top 10 has not only elevated her personal career but has also secured Kazakhstan a strong and stable position in women’s professional tennis worldwide.

Alexander Bublik Makes History for Kazakhstan

On the men’s side, Alexander Bublik delivered a landmark achievement for Kazakh tennis. Following his victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong, where he claimed the ninth title of his career, Bublik climbed to 10th place in the ATP world rankings.

This marks the first time in history that a male tennis player from Kazakhstan has entered the global Top 10, making the country officially represented among the world’s best in both tours.

Strong Results at the Team Level

Beyond individual success, Kazakhstan continues to perform at a high level in team competitions. The Kazakhstan women’s national team is ranked among the Top 10 teams in the Billie Jean King Cup standings, confirming the country’s growing influence in international team tennis.

A System Built for Long-Term Success

Experts note that these achievements are the result of systematic development of tennis infrastructure, investment in youth programs, and consistent international exposure. Over the past decade, Kazakhstan has made tennis a strategic priority, and the results are now clearly visible on the world stage.

Kazakhstan’s entry into the global tennis elite is more than a symbolic victory — it is a clear sign that the country has built a competitive, sustainable, and internationally respected tennis system, with strong foundations for future success.
