European aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus has summed up the results of 2025, reaffirming its status as one of the key players in the global aviation market. Over the year, the company delivered 793 commercial aircraft — 4% more than a year earlier — and recorded 1,000 gross orders (889 net) from 57 customers worldwide, DKNews.kz reports.
Record demand and backlog growth
As of the end of December 2025, Airbus’s total order backlog reached a historic high of 8,754 aircraft. This includes 1,124 widebody jets, highlighting growing airline interest in long-haul and highly efficient models amid the recovery of global air travel.
The order mix is dominated by the narrowbody family:
- 49 A220
- 656 A320
- 100 A330neo
- 2 A330 MRTT
- 193 A350
The company once again posted a book-to-bill ratio above one, meaning that orders exceeded deliveries — a key indicator of business sustainability.
New operators and strategic deliveries
Despite a complex and evolving operating environment, Airbus not only increased deliveries but also expanded its global footprint. In 2025, new operators of the A220, A321XLR, A330neo and A350-1000 aircraft appeared across different regions of the world.
At the same time, the company secured repeat orders from existing customers and attracted new key partners in both the narrowbody and widebody segments — a clear signal of confidence in Airbus’s product lineup and long-term strategy.
What’s next
Airbus’s financial results for 2025 will be officially presented on February 19, 2026. The market expects that the strong delivery and order performance will be reflected in the financial statements as well.
Against the backdrop of global fleet renewal and rising passenger traffic, Airbus enters 2026 with a record order backlog and устойчив demand — a rare combination amid high turbulence in the global economy.
