Abu Dhabi hosted one of the most vibrant international events in the world of children’s fashion — International Kids Fashion Week, held under the patronage of Sheikha Fakhra bint Dhiyab Al Nahyan. The event once again proved that children’s fashion is becoming a powerful platform for cultural dialogue between countries, DKNews.kz reports.

A global fashion platform
International Kids Fashion Week was organized by Mona Al Mansouri, the first fashion designer of the United Arab Emirates and a key figure in the development of international projects in children’s fashion and culture.

This year, the fashion week brought together designers and participants from Kazakhstan, the UAE, Russia, India, Morocco, Australia, Zambia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Oman. Such a wide geography confirmed the event’s status as a truly global cultural and fashion platform.

Kazakh ethnic collection draws attention
One of the highlights of the fashion week was the Kazakh ethnic collection, inspired by national traditions, ornamental patterns, and Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage.

The collection stood out for its distinctive identity, combining ethnic elements with modern approaches to children’s fashion. It attracted strong interest from the international audience and industry professionals.

International recognition for a Kazakh designer
Following the runway shows, Kazakh designer Gaukhar Kanatbay received the prestigious Best Children’s Designer award.

The recognition highlighted her creative vision and her ability to successfully integrate ethnic motifs into contemporary children’s fashion, making national culture accessible and appealing to a global audience.

The role of cultural diplomacy
The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi was also honored with a special award from the event organizers for its support in facilitating Kazakhstan’s participation.

This gesture emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement in promoting cultural and humanitarian cooperation and supporting creative initiatives abroad.

Fashion as a bridge between cultures
International Kids Fashion Week once again demonstrated that culture, fashion, and children’s creativity can serve as powerful bridges between nations.
