Kazakhstan’s Presidential Aide and Press Secretary Ruslan Zheldibay has disclosed details of a brief conversation between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and U.S. President Donald Trump that took place in Davos. He commented on the matter after several media outlets requested clarification regarding the content of the exchange, DKNews.kz reports.

The conversation occurred during the ceremony marking the signing of the Charter of the Peace Council, an initiative launched by the U.S. side.

Abraham Accords Mentioned

According to Ruslan Zheldibay, President Tokayev drew Donald Trump’s attention to an official document circulated at the Davos Forum titled “365 Victories of President Donald Trump in 365 Days.”

In that document, Kazakhstan’s accession to the Abraham Accords is listed as the 177th achievement. President Tokayev specifically highlighted this point during his brief exchange with the U.S. leader.

Words of Support and Trump’s Response

President Tokayev also wished Donald Trump success in pursuing what he described as a policy of “common sense” in domestic affairs.

In response, Donald Trump thanked the President of Kazakhstan for supporting his initiative to establish the Peace Council, Zheldibay said.

Signing of the Peace Council Charter

On January 22, President Tokayev arrived at the Congress Center in Davos to attend the official signing ceremony of the Peace Council Charter. The new international body was created at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Alongside the President of Kazakhstan, leaders and representatives of 18 countries took part in the ceremony.

Kazakhstan Among the First Participants

Earlier reports indicated that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was among the first heads of state to receive an official invitation from Donald Trump to join the newly established Peace Council on Gaza. Kazakhstan was also invited to become one of the founding states of the initiative.

According to Washington’s vision, the Peace Council will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and monitoring the implementation of commitments related to the peaceful development of Gaza.

How the Council Will Operate

The White House has stated that the founding executive board will consist of seven members — leaders with experience in diplomacy, development, infrastructure, and economic strategy. Each member will oversee a specific area considered critical to stabilizing Gaza.

In addition, a Gaza Executive Board will be established to oversee the activities of the new government in the territory. This body will include 11 members, four of whom will also serve on the founding executive board.

Previously, Donald Trump described the new body as “the greatest and most prestigious council ever assembled at any time and in any place.”
