KMF Bank JSC has officially received a license to carry out activities in the securities market of Kazakhstan. The decision was made in accordance with the order of the Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market dated January 23, 2026, No. Б-13, DKNews.kz reports.

The license, issued on January 23, 2026 under No. 3.3.49, marks an important step in the bank’s expansion into new segments of the financial market.

What the license means

A securities market license allows a financial institution to operate with investment instruments in compliance with national legislation. For KMF Bank, this opens the door to developing new services related to capital markets and broadening its financial product portfolio.

Experts note that the entry of banks into the securities market contributes to stronger competition and the overall development of the financial sector.

Why it matters for clients

For customers, the license may translate into easier access to investment-related services through a familiar banking infrastructure. This can increase convenience and trust, especially for clients interested in diversifying their financial activities.

At the same time, securities market operations are subject to strict regulatory oversight, which is designed to protect investors’ interests.

Role of the financial regulator

The license was granted by Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, which oversees the stability of the financial system and ensures that market participants comply with regulatory requirements.

Receiving such a license indicates that KMF Bank meets the regulator’s standards in areas such as capital adequacy, corporate governance, and risk management.

What comes next

With the license now in place, KMF Bank is expected to gradually expand its presence in the securities market and introduce new financial solutions for both corporate and retail clients. The move may also contribute to the broader development of Kazakhstan’s capital market.
