Kazakhstan and Tunisia have outlined plans to give new momentum to bilateral relations following a meeting in Tunis between Ambassador non-resident of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tunisia Anuarbek Akhmetov and the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti, DKNews.kz reports.
During the meeting, Anuarbek Akhmetov presented copies of his credentials to the Tunisian Foreign Minister. The talks were held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, setting a positive tone for further engagement between the two countries.
Mohamed Ali Nafti, recalling his warm memories of Kazakhstan, congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed confidence that Kazakh-Tunisian relations would continue to strengthen in a comprehensive manner. He подчеркнул that Tunisia views Kazakhstan as a friendly and reliable partner.
In response, Anuarbek Akhmetov thanked the Minister for his kind words and noted that he would make every effort to elevate bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level. According to the Ambassador, there is significant untapped potential in relations between Astana and Tunis, particularly in the economic sphere.

Focus on dialogue, economy and business ties
During the discussions, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in intensifying bilateral political dialogue and expanding trade and economic cooperation. Particular attention was paid to strengthening contacts between the business communities of the two countries and exploring opportunities for launching joint projects in priority sectors of the economy.
The ministers also touched upon cooperation within multilateral formats. Mohamed Ali Nafti stated that Tunisia would continue to support the initiatives of “fraternal Kazakhstan” within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international organizations. This position was seen as an important signal of political trust and partnership.
Looking ahead
Concluding the meeting, the interlocutors expressed their readiness to maintain constructive dialogue and further intensify bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of Kazakhstan and Tunisia. Both sides emphasized that practical economic projects and closer business engagement should become key drivers of relations in the coming period.
The meeting marked an important step toward revitalizing Kazakhstan–Tunisia ties and demonstrated a shared willingness to move from political goodwill to concrete results.
