Artificial intelligence is no longer just the domain of IT specialists — it is rapidly becoming part of vocational and professional education. In this context, 20 college instructors from across Kazakhstan have completed an international training program in China, gaining hands-on experience in artificial intelligence (AI) at the Wuhan Software Engineering Vocational College, DKNews.kz reports.

The program was designed not as a symbolic exchange, but as a practical step toward modernizing technical and vocational education in Kazakhstan.

From national policy to real-world skills

The training curriculum was comprehensive. Participants studied China’s national policy on artificial intelligence, modern teaching methodologies, and cutting-edge software technologies.

A strong emphasis was placed on applied fields where AI is already shaping global markets, including:

  • smart vehicles and intelligent transportation systems,
  • cross-border e-commerce,
  • digital solutions for manufacturing and logistics.

This approach allowed instructors to see not only how AI works in theory, but which skills students will need to remain competitive in the job market.

Inside Wuhan’s IT and manufacturing ecosystem

As part of the program, the Kazakh delegation visited leading IT and manufacturing companies in Wuhan. There, participants observed how artificial intelligence is integrated into real production processes — from data analytics and automation to equipment management and supply chain optimization.

For many instructors, this was the most valuable part of the experience, offering a clear picture of how classroom knowledge translates into industrial applications.

Certification and new opportunities

At the end of the program, all participants successfully passed a practical examination and received internationally recognized certificates, confirming their competencies in artificial intelligence and modern digital technologies.

The knowledge and experience gained are expected to be used to:

  • update college curricula in Kazakhstan,
  • introduce new AI-related courses,
  • better align vocational training with labor market demands.

Strengthening educational cooperation

The project also contributed to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in vocational education. Such initiatives lay the groundwork for future joint programs, faculty exchanges, and collaborative educational projects.

As artificial intelligence becomes an integral part of the global economy, programs like this help ensure that educators — and their students — are prepared not for the distant future, but for today’s technological reality.
