Kazakhstan’s media landscape is shifting - and this is one of those moments that won’t go unnoticed. Where style meets influence, and glossy media is no longer just about visuals, a new chapter is beginning. Tatler Kazakhstan has announced major leadership changes, but behind the formal press release lies a deeper story about transformation, ambition, and the future of the industry, DKNews.kz reports.

A New Leader from Within

As of April 1, 2026, Aida Ashimova has been appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of Tatler Kazakhstan. This is not an external hire - she is someone who has been part of the project since its earliest days.

Ashimova joined Tatler Kazakhstan at launch and served as Commercial Director, playing a key role in shaping the publication’s advertising and partnership strategy. In her new role, she succeeds Marina Gazizova-Yakovleva.

With over 14 years of experience in the glossy media industry, her career spans from Advertising Director to Publisher of leading international brands, including Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Robb Report, Cosmopolitan, and Men’s Health. She has also led niche projects such as SKY&travel and Revolution.

That kind of background is not just impressive - it is strategic.

Why This Matters

The media industry is evolving faster than ever. Glossy publications today are no longer only about fashion and social life. They are about influence, community, and the ability to speak the same language as the audience.

Appointing a leader from within signals a clear direction. Tatler Kazakhstan is not opting for a reset - it is strengthening what already works.

The real challenge now is balance: preserving the brand’s identity while adapting to a new reality where competition extends beyond traditional media to social platforms, influencers, and digital ecosystems.

A Renewed Supervisory Board

Alongside the leadership change, the Supervisory Board has also been updated.

Yulia Engelman has joined the board - a philanthropist, member of the UNICEF advisory council, and director of the Graff boutique in Almaty (VILED GROUP).

The current Supervisory Board includes:

  • Timur Turlov
  • Alexander Vorotilov
  • Olga Baskakova
  • Yulia Engelman

This is more than a list of names. It represents a convergence of media, business, and influence - a combination capable of defining the project’s next trajectory.

Acknowledgment and Transition

The company also expressed gratitude to Marina Gazizova-Yakovleva for her contribution as CEO.

"Tatler Kazakhstan expresses its gratitude to Marina Gazizova-Yakovleva for her contribution to the development of the project and wishes her success in her future professional initiatives."

Behind this formal statement lies an entire chapter in the brand’s growth.

What Comes Next

The updated leadership team is focusing on several key priorities:

  • strengthening its position in the local market
  • developing international projects
  • expanding partnerships

This is not just a roadmap - it is a move to the next level.

Tatler Kazakhstan is now at a point where it must not only retain audience attention but also shape it - becoming a platform that defines the agenda rather than follows it.

Why This Story Has Momentum

On a broader scale, this shift reflects a larger trend in Kazakhstan’s media industry.

Strong local teams are beginning to operate on global terms. Brands once perceived purely as glossy magazines are transforming into full-scale media ecosystems.

And it is exactly these kinds of transformations that tend to gain traction online.

Because this is not just a leadership change. It is a shift in speed, scale, and ambition.
