April 15 this year The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Doha A. Issagaliev visited the flagship of the national educational institutions of Qatar - Qatar University and met with its President Hassan Al-Derham to discuss priority areas for the development of cooperation in the field of education and science, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
During the conversation, the parties noted the significant potential for establishing broad interaction between the universities of the two countries through the exchange of students and teachers, the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects. The memorandum of cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and Qatar, planned to be signed during the upcoming state visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Nur-Sultan, will serve as a legal basis for full-scale cooperation of higher educational institutions of the two countries.
The President of Qatar University expressed his readiness to start negotiations with the leading national universities of Kazakhstan in the online format to discuss promising areas of cooperation. In particular, he proposed to implement joint scientific projects in the field of space research, as well as the creation of artificial satellites.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of providing Qatar University with educational and scientific grants. Currently, Kazakh students are already studying at the university in various programs. An agreement was reached to increase the number of students from our country in the next academic year.
In addition, Ambassador A. Issagaliev told the interlocutor about the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan this year. In this regard, a lecture was initiated for students and faculty of the Qatari university, dedicated to this significant date.
At the end of the meeting, the Anthology of Kazakh modern literature and a collection of works by Abai, published in Arabic, were presented to the President of Qatar University.
