On December 29, 2019 as part of promoting the export and investment potential of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Iran in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran held the Kazakhstan Economy Day in Tehran.
The event was attended by about 130 representatives of various ministries and departments, business circles, and industry associations of Iran.
Mr. A. Orazbay, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan In his presentation spoke in detail about the socio-economic development and achievements of Kazakhstan, the investment and export potential of the country, as well as the benefits for attracting foreign investment to Kazakhstan.
The ambassador also informed the participants of the event about the conditions created in Kazakhstan for foreign investors, the preferences provided for them, including within the existing free economic zones and the Astana International Financial Center and called the Iranian business to intensify cooperation with Kazakhstan.
Special attention was paid to the Interim agreement leading to the formation of a free trade zone between the EAEU and Iran which entered into force on October 27 of this year. The forum participants were also informed about the goods that will be imported on the territory of the EAEU and Iran on reduced import customs duties.
During the event, a video about Kazakhstan and its investment potential was shown to the participants.
The Deputy Chairman of the Commercial, Industrial, Mining and Trade Chamber of Iran Mr. M. Karbasi and Chairman of the Joint Kazakh-Iranian Chamber Mr. A. Abadi in their speeches also called on participants to cooperate with Kazakhstan, taking into account the country's successes in socio-economic development, proximity to Iran and favorable geographical location, and expressed their readiness to provide all necessary support and assistance by their organizations.
