A regional CAMCA Forum kicked-off today for the first time in an online format, with the participation of representatives of Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan (CAMCA).
The forum is organized by one of the US prestigious think tanks, the Central Asia and Caucasus Institute under the leadership of famous scientist Frederick Starr, and the influential Donald Rumsfeld Foundation.
During a 3-day online event, the participants to discuss the fight against Coronavirus pandemic, the development of intra-regional trade and entrepreneurship, as well as regional security issues and key aspects of digital transformation.
On behalf of the Kazakh side, Ambassador to the United States Erzhan Kazykhanov and Governor of Astana International Financial Centre Kairat Kelimbetov addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.
The Forum will continue until June 19. The programme of the sessions is available at camcaforum.org.
The next regional forum is expected to be held in Almaty in 2021.
CAMCA traditionally brings together government officials, representatives from academia and business, as well as public organizations to discuss key issues of cooperation and interaction between the countries of the region.
