December 8, the official closing ceremony of the Year of the Volunteer was held with the participation of the Head of State. In his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the Year of the Volunteer successful.
Kazakhstani volunteers, representatives of NGOs, ambassadors of national volunteer projects, heads of regional front offices of volunteers and heads of central and local government bodies took part in the event via video conferencing.
As part of the event, the winners of the international prize "Volunteer of the Year" were awarded. The awards were held in 16 nominations. The award was presented by the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, akims of the regions and cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, and Shymkent.
- In the nomination "The Best Volunteer Organization" the prizes were awarded to the "Bridge of Good" volunteer club of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in the city of Karaganda, the "Astana Dobryakov Club" movement, the "Alem" volunteer group at the Agrotechnical College State Enterprise.
- In the nomination "Leader of corporate volunteering" awards were awarded to Shakimova Altyngul, Public Association "Zhalyn" Zhankeldi audandyk Zhastar Uymy ", Turdyeva Hamida.
- In the nomination "Participation in the fight against coronavirus infection" Mulikova Tomiris, Merekova Asem, Serimbayeva Danne, Bazarbayeva Ainur.
- In the category "Leaders of Sustainable Development Goals", the awards were awarded to Kuat Amir, Balbaev Abdimalik, ENACTUS KAZAKHSTAN.
- In the nomination "Best Social Assistant" the prizes were awarded to Erbol Amantayev, Galiya Bekkuzhieva, Maral Esekesheva.
- In the nomination "For active participation in the elimination of emergencies" prizes were awarded to the Public Association "Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan", Makatov Dulat, Zhapbasova Talshyn.
- In the nomination "For active participation in the search for missing people" the prizes were awarded to the PA "Search Engines of the City of Pavlodar VITA", Blac Dilmira, Toleshov Asylbek.
- In the nomination "For active participation in providing assistance to victims of crime" the prizes were awarded to the Public Association "Women's Ray", Madina Kuspanova, Asel Temerbaeva.
- In the nomination "For active participation in the development of health care" prizes were awarded to Y-PEER in Kazakhstan, Parpiev Latif, Dzhaguparov Alexander.
- In the nomination "For active participation in promoting a healthy lifestyle" awards were awarded to Azhimurat Sanzhar, Orazgaliev Arslan, Anarbaeva Inessa.
- In the nomination “For contribution to the popularization of knowledge” the prizes were awarded to the Public Association “Teacher's Academy”, Aina Rahayeva, and Temirgali Marzhan.
- In the nomination "For the contribution to the preservation and protection of the environment," the prizes were awarded to the IOO Clean Games, the Ecovolenter Project, and Khairullin Arman.
- In the nomination "For contribution to strengthening peace, friendship and harmony" prizes were awarded to Zinaida Bagnenko, Talgat Chudobaeva, Stanislav Nasyrov.
- In the nomination "For the contribution to the preservation and development of historical and cultural heritage" the prizes were awarded to Aisagali Saduakasov, the Private Foundation "Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific Research", Skandirov Aydinbek.
