The Embassy of Kazakhstan to Canada held an online briefing in preparation for the election of deputies to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 10, 2021.
The briefing was attended by representatives of the scientific and public circles of Canada, journalists, Kazakh students, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Canada, as well as representatives of the Kazakh diaspora.
During the event, the participants were familiarized with the peculiarities of the current electoral process in Kazakhstan and the changes made to the electoral legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the ongoing political modernization in our country. At the same time, special attention was paid to the conditions for organizing the current elections, as well as to international foreign observers accredited in the elections.
The participants of the event expressed considerable interest in the issues of the procedure for organizing in-person voting in Canada. The Embassy provided full information on the date, time and procedure for voting in the elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan at Polling Station № 279 in Ottawa and Toronto on January 10, 2021. Due to the country's strict quarantine measures, the Embassy has made every effort to ensure a safe voting process in the field and to comply with all recommendations of the Ontario Department of Public Health.
