“Abai Institute” was established in Kazakhstan. The program of “Abai Institute” is implemented through an open online educational web-platform “https://abai.institute” in English, German, Persian, Turkish and Russian.
The online platform was developed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the State Program for the Implementation of the Language Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025 in order to popularize the Kazakh language, literature and culture, increase the prestige of the Kazakh language at the international level, promote and deepen the study of the Kazakh language for Kazakh diasporas abroad by ensuring the general availability of training programs, presentation of Abai's creativity and ideas.
According to the information of National Scientific and Practical Center “Til-Kazyna” named after Shaisultan Shayakhmetov, “Abai Institute" will play a special role in teaching the Kazakh language to both the foreign Kazakh diaspora and foreign citizens who are interested in the life of the Kazakh people, its culture, traditions and customs, as well as compatriots who do not speak the Kazakh language in sufficient volume.
“Abay-Institute” has the same goals and objectives as similar organizations in Turkey “Yunus Emre Institute”, in Germany “Goethe-Institut” or in Russia “Pushkin Institute”, which are designed not only to promote the study of languages, but also to further improve cooperation between countries in the field of education, science, culture, art etc.
Currently, the “Abay Institute” in cooperation with “Otandastar” Foundation has organized Kazakh language courses in five countries: Turkey, Iran, Russia, Belgium and the United States.
In the near future, a special portal will create content for the Kazakh diasporas to study their native language, literature and folklore. It is also planned to conduct online courses and video lectures on various topics in the field of science and education, language theory, the influence and features of the use of the Kazakh literary language in the socio-public, political-economic and scientific-technical spheres in the country and abroad.
In addition, various events will be organized dedicated to the creative heritage and ideas of the great Kazakh thinker Abai.
