On March 31, 2021, an informal summit of The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States was held in an online format, reports Delovoy Kazakhstan.
Opening the event, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that for all the Turkic peoples, Turkestan is the land of the ancestors, a blessed and native place. The President called for the modernization of the Turkic civilization to begin, first of all, with the presentation of the heritage of Yasawi and holy Turkestan to the whole world.
Within the framework of the Summit, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev also spoke as the Honorary Chairman of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.
Elbasy expressed hope that the informal Summit will give an additional impetus to the further strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the fraternal countries of the Turkic Council. Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that during the difficult period for the entire international community associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Turkic countries managed to maintain unity.
The Summit in Turkestan is a kind of presentation within the framework of the implementation of investment projects in construction, tourism, and infrastructure development. The international presentation held in the late 90s in Nur-Sultan city also gave an impetus to the development of Turkestan.
At the strategically important meeting, the heads of the Turkic-speaking countries also noted the significant political and socio-economic progress made by the Turkic-Speaking States over the past decades. The summit participants drew attention to the development of diverse relations in the Turkic world and the further deepening of cooperation between the Turkic states. In addition, the Summit adopted the Turkestan Declaration, according to which Turkestan was officially recognized as the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.
Turkestan is a symbol of the Turkic world. Our ancestors received spiritual knowledge from the great teacher Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and spread the Turkic-Islamic culture in the world. Therefore, the participants of the Council should contribute to the revival of the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.
The modernized Turkestan is another achievement of Kazakhstan under the leadership of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy in 30 years of the existence of an independent country.
