The official opening of the Canadian Visa Application Center in Nur-Sultan took place on November 15, 2019. This is the second specialized visa center operating on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (along with the Canadian visa center in Almaty). This center is managed by the "VFS Global", which has an exclusive contract with the Government of Canada for the provision of reception services and initial processing of documents for obtaining Canadian visas, work and study permits.
The new Visa Application Center was opened to make services more accessible to a wider audience, not only in Kazakhstan, but in the region as a whole. In particular, the opening of this center will facilitate the process of issuing visa documents and submitting biometric data for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan living in Nur-Sultan and surrounding areas.
This center provides only general information and administrative services related to the issuance of Canadian visas. The final decision on whether or not to issue a visa is made exclusively by Canadian immigration officers in Moscow and Warsaw.
The Canadian Visa Application Center provides the following services:
- collection of biometric data;
- dispatching a package of documents for pasting a visa;
- assistance in filling out visa forms in electronic or paper form;
- courier service for sending documents within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- SMS notification, photocopying, scanning, printing documents, etc.
The Visa Application Center charges specific service fees for providing these services. The full list and cost of such services are available on the visa center’s official website.
