A concert dedicated to the anniversaries of the classics of national art, as well as famous cultural figures of modern Kazakhstan, will be featured for the audience at Astana Opera, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

On June 22, stars of the capital’s opera house will take the Baiseitova Chamber Hall stage in a rich musical evening Ulylargha Taghzym, organized in collaboration with the Composers’ Union and the Vocalists’ Union of Kazakhstan.

“The concert of vocal music, created by our team together with two republican public organizations, will be a tribute to the memory of masters of performing arts, great singers – the 110th anniversary of Kulyash Baiseitova and Zhamal Omarova, the 100th anniversary of Roza Baglanova. They brought fame to the national vocal school and our songwriting all over the world, and received many significant awards,” the Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Azamat Zheltyrguzov said.

“We also want to honour the memory of the masters of the national composing school – Bakhytzhan Baikadamov, whose 105th anniversary is celebrated this year, the 95th anniversary of Gaziza Zhubanova, Dungenbai Botbayev and Kenzhebek Kumisbekov, the 90th anniversary of Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev and the 85th anniversary of Mynzhasar Mangitayev. These cultural figures promoted the musical creativity of Kazakhstan in the international arena. We will celebrate the anniversaries of famous writers and playwrights, authors of librettos for operas – the 125th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov and the 120th anniversary of Gabit Musrepov. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the famous director Azerbaizhan Mambetov and the 100th anniversary of the hero of the Great Patriotic War Manshuk Mametova,” Azamat Zheltyrguzov added. “At the same time, we will celebrate the anniversaries of the living leading figures who have made a great contribution to the development of Kazakh classical art: the 75th anniversary of the outstanding singer Gafiz Yessimov and famous contemporary composers – the 75th anniversary of Zholaman Tursynbayev, Vladimir Strigotsky-Pak and Aitkali Zhaiymov, 70th anniversary of Donedil Kazhimov and 60th anniversary of Serikzhan Abdinurov.”

It is important to note that in addition to his work as Astana Opera’s opera company director, Azamat Zheltyrguzov is one of the leading baritones of the Kazakh classical music scene. His first role at the Baiseitova Opera House was Omar in Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev’s opera Kamar-Sulu. During the performances, the classical composer was personally present in the hall and always highly praised the singer’s performance. Despite the difference in age categories, a strong friendship developed between the author and the soloist. Under the vocalist’s belt there is a performance in the main part in the concert version of the opera Sultan Beibars by the contemporary composer and kuishi Aitkali Zhaiymov. With great love, Azamat Zheltyrguzov performs the works by Gaziza Zhubanova, such as the famous art song Zhyr Zhazamyn Zhuregimnen and other songs and opera arias. “My great love for vocal art was born at a young age. Grandmother took me to see Roza Baglanova’s performance when she gave a recital in our village. The great singer’s live performance made an indelible impression on my childhood imagination, and I decided to dedicate my life to singing no matter what it takes. I eagerly listened to recordings of performances by Kulyash Baiseitova, Yermek Serkebayev, often watched musical evenings of Bibigul Tulegenova on TV,” the artist shared.
