The book of the President of Kazakhstan «The Word about the father» was presented in Romania

At the Institute for Advanced Studies and Civilizations of the Levant, an official presentation ceremony of the book of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev «The Word about the Father» in Romanian took place, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The event was attended by members of Parliament, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and public figures, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, academic and business circles, the Romanian media.

In his speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurbakh Rustemov told about the difficult fate of the main character of the book, the well-known writer Kemel Tokayev in our country, and elaborated on the key events described in the book.

At the same time, the Kazakh diplomat congratulated the participants of the event on the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Romania on July 15 this year, and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to develop.

Former Romanian President Emil Constantinescu (1996-2000) stressed that the book vividly describes the events of the 1930s, through the tragedy of Kemel Tokayev's relatives. «It is impressive that, overcoming all the difficult stages in his life, Kemel Tokayev had a firm intention to get a higher education», - he noted.

Contantinescu said that the book «The Word about the Father» is not just a biography of the President's father, but «a testimony of the son's gratitude to his father». «I have written and talked a lot about the wealth of Kazakhstan, but the real wealth of Kazakhstan is people and their way of thinking», - he said.

Congratulating on the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Emil Constantinescu called for further strengthening and development of Kazakh-Romanian relations.

Professor of the University of Bucharest, linguist Antoanetu Olteanu (translator of Abai's book «Kara Sozder») noted that the book was written with a «sharp and precise pen». «The work describes not only the difficulties of life, but, at the same time, the hope and values that the Kazakh people carry», - A.Olteanu said.

She expressed the opinion that the book describes, in addition to the life of Kemel Tokayev, also other destinies that influenced the construction of a new state with their efforts and desires. «It is important to recognize this», - the professor said.

Public figure, former head of the Society for Cultural Relations of Kazakhstan with Foreign Countries Zhibek Amirkhanova told about the difficulties of life faced by Kemel Tokayev, and his success in his writing career, as well as about personal acquaintance with him in 1977. Zh.Amirkhanova stressed that she was happy to read the detectives of the famous author, and noted that his books were actively sold out in bookstores and passed from hand to hand.

In addition, it should be noted that today, with the active assistance of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Romania, the presentation of the book of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis «Pas cu Pas» («Step by step») in the Kazakh language was also held in the capital of Kazakhstan. Such events are of particular importance in building bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect. 

The book «The Word about the father» was published by the publishing house «Curtea Veche» with the assistance of «Kazmunaygas International» in June 2022.
