From 1 to 4 September 2022, the Sweden Hockey Trophy '08, an international youth ice hockey tournament for boys born in 2008, was held at the HCL Ice Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The traditional annual Sweden Hockey Trophy, founded in 2003, is one of the most prestigious youth competitions in Scandinavia.
There are 18 teams from all over Sweden, divided into AAA and AA level divisions. The Kazakh club team Astana took part in the AAA division as a guest team.
Games in the tournament were played in a round robin system. The Kazakhstan team scored five wins in seven games and finished in third place on the podium. In addition to the bronze medal and general recognition, our team won another trophy - the goalkeeper of the Kazakh team awarded the medal for best goalkeeper of the tournament.
During a meeting with representatives from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Sweden, our young hockey players thanked for the support and help during their time in the country. The athletes also noted the high level of organization of the event, the friendly atmosphere and the warm welcome from the Swedish hockey players.
