The Abai Cultural Center at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia hosted a seminar dedicated to the activities of outstanding personalities - Kazakh scientist and politician Akhmet Baitursynov, writer Mukhtar Auezov, and great vocalist Rosa Baglanova, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ethiopian scientific and creative circles, as well as members of the Friends of Kazakhstan Club.
Special attention was paid to the creative heritage of Akhmet Baitursynov, his significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh statehood, science, culture and spiritual revival of the Kazakh people.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union Barlybay Sadykov acquainted the seminar participants with the directions of the state program for the modernization of public consciousness «Rukhani Zhangyru», the policy of ensuring the unity of the people of Kazakhstan and the preservation of cultural diversity.
In addition, he spoke about the activities of the Kazakh creative leaders at the beginning of the first half of the XX century, and their role in promoting Kazakh culture on the world stage. The significant influence of M.Auezov's creativity on the development of Kazakh literature was noted, while the musical talent of the Kazakh singer Rosa Baglanova became known far beyond the borders of the country at the time.
The Ambassador reminded the seminar participants that this year the results of the «Decade of Rapprochement of Cultures for 2013-2022» announced by the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Kazakhstan are being summed up. Also this year, the UNESCO calendar of anniversaries includes the birthdays of the aforementioned Kazakh personalities - Akhmet Baitursynov, Mukhtar Auyezov, Rosa Baglanova.
Prospects of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia were also discussed during the event. A photo exhibition on the theme «New Kazakhstan» was presented to the guests of the cultural evening at the Embassy.
As part of the program of familiarization with the culture and history of Kazakhstan, the participants of Seminar enjoyed the film «Kazakh Khanate: Diamond Sword», directed by Rustem Abdrashev.
