The implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Chinese border was discussed at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, DKNews.kz reports.

Head of State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance Daniyar Zhanelinov reported that as a result of the measures taken over the past week has significantly increased the capacity of the checkpoint "Nur Zholy". In particular, on March 19 from the People's Republic of China into the Republic of Kazakhstan more than 680 trucks entered (March 13 was about 150 units), and from the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China was about 140 cars. The actual queue at the border decreased from 300 vehicles during the first days to about 70 vehicles as of March 20. From the Kazakhstan side in it are mostly carriers, waiting to get Chinese visas.

The Prime Minister noted the need to accelerate the process with the active assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and to take measures to simplify the admission of Kazakh companies to international transportations.

At the same time, Alikhan Smailov instructed to review approaches and optimize the order of formation of electronic queue to travel through border checkpoints. According to him, the Atameken NCE should be involved in this work to make the process more transparent and efficient.
