Dimash and the UN: Art and Diplomacy in Geneva

Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen visited Geneva - the capital of multilateral politics and diplomacy, DKNews.kz reports.

Dimash toured the Palais des Nations - the second most important UN residence after New York, where he saw the works of art, historical documents and objects in the Geneva Library and UN Archives, and even peeked into the work of one of the multilateral sessions.

The Kazakh artist was welcomed by a Director General of the UN Office in Geneva Tatiana Valovaya, who shared the priorities of work of the European headquarters of the UN. Dimash expressed support for the Organization and spoke about his artistic projects. He underlined the special role that famous people could play in promoting universal human values and ideas of peace and understanding. According to Dimash, when words cease to have effect, music can reach the hearts of people.

In addition, Dimash held meetings at the Palais Wilson - home of the UN Office for Human Rights, and at the headquarters of the International Organization for Migration.

Dimash also visited the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to the UN in Geneva, where he talked to Mission’s staff and their families. During the meeting with Permanent Representative Yerlan Alimbayev, he was briefed about priority areas of Kazakhstan’s work on Geneva platforms.
