Kazakhstan and Congo plan to develop cultural and humanitarian ties

The Prospects of Kazakh-Congolese Cooperation Discussed in Foreign Ministry of Congo, DKnews.kz reports.

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia and Kenya (concurrently), the Permanent Representative to the African Union, at the UN Office in Nairobi, Barlybay Sadykov held the meeting with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Congolese Abroad of the Republic of Congo, Guy Nestor Itoua.

The parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda. They paid special attention to plans to develop cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, to organizational issues of the upcoming official visit of Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of Congo to Kazakhstan, the formation of a bilateral legal framework, as well as prospects for interaction within international organizations.

The sides discussed in detail the ways of implementation of the agreements reached by the heads of state during their meeting at COP-28 in December 2023 in Dubai, as well as following the visit of F.Joly, Personal Representative of the President of Congo for strategic and international negotiations to Kazakhstan on June 10-11, 2024.

During the meeting in Dubai the parties agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The head of state invited his Congolese colleague to pay the first official visit to Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the parties agreed to continue interaction on issues of mutual interest.
