Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia strengthen ties

Madiyar Menilbekov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, held a meeting with Raad AlBarakati, the President and CEO of the Saudi Center for International Strategic Partnerships (SCISP), DKnews.kz reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, including ways to expand trade, economic, transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian ties.

Ambassador Menilbekov briefed about the key aspects of Kazakhstan’s comprehensive internal political and socio-economic modernization. He informed about the results of the implementation of the reforms initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, changes in legislation aimed at strengthening economic and political processes in the country.

Raad AlBarakati noted the positive dynamics of the Kazakh-Saudi relations and expressed the Center’s readiness to help strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas of interstate collaboration through a comprehensive study of existing opportunities between the two countries, identifying priority areas and developing specific proposals.

The parties also considered the possibility of establishing cooperation between the SCISP and Kazakh research institutions and, as a result of the meeting, agreed to coordinate efforts to expand mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

For reference: SCISP is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading research Centers and a standalone government entity that aims to coordinate all the Kingdom’s efforts concerning its international and regional strategic partnerships. Through SCISP’s mandate, the Center aims to work and coordinate with relevant government and private entities, develop criteria and plans that will help identify the Kingdom’s potential strategic partner countries, conduct the necessary studies on the establishment of international strategic partnerships, activate and monitor the outcomes of partnerships established by the Kingdom with strategic partners; identify and evaluate opportunities within the partnerships that achieve common objectives between the Kingdom and partner countries.
