Finnish companies assessed Kazakhstan's investment opportunities

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Azamat Abdraimov presented Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities during a meeting with Finnish business, DKnews.kz reports.

The event was attended by representatives of large Finnish companies and business circles representing the construction, mining, chemical, woodworking, food and agricultural industries.

In his speech, the Kazakh diplomat spoke in detail about the successful socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the active efforts of the Government to attract foreign direct investment and their volumes, legislative support for this process, the activities of Kazakh Invest JSC, the AIFC and large international corporations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also stressed the effectiveness and availability of the best investment climate in Kazakhstan in the regional the section.

Special attention was paid to the expansion of the transport and logistics potential of the Central Asian region. In this context, the growing role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in building up trade relations and establishing business contacts between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Finland was noted.

During the event, the Ambassador noted that Finland is a key trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan in Northern Europe and the Baltic States. Infrastructure, digitalization, energy, forestry, water resources management, mining, education and tourism were identified as promising areas for the development of further bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

In turn, the General Director of “EastCham Finland”, Jaana Rekolainen, noted that holding such events would give impetus to further fruitful cooperation, and will allow finding new points of contact and establishing contacts between the business communities of Kazakhstan and Finland.

Representatives of the Finnish business community positively assessed the work carried out in Kazakhstan to attract investment and expressed their readiness to strengthen contacts with Kazakhstani partners.
