FlyArystan has successfully completed the third stage of its forest restoration project in the Abay region. Today, representatives of the Kazakh low-cost airline, members of the media, bloggers, and local residents of Semey participated in a tree-planting event at the "Semey Ormany" State Forest Nature Reserve, specifically within the Morozov branch, DKnews.kz reports.

In December 2023, FlyArystan provided financial support to "Semey Ormany" by purchasing and delivering 570 briquettes, equivalent to 159,600 liters of peat substrate, for the cultivation of Scots pine seedlings. This amount of substrate can support nearly three greenhouses, capable of producing 1,325,000 seedlings with closed root systems for planting on approximately 315 hectares of land.

"FlyArystan's mission extends beyond providing affordable and safe air travel; we are also committed to supporting the regions where we operate. We are proud to participate in large-scale, meaningful projects that benefit not only the local area but also the country as a whole. This initiative reflects our dedication to a sustainable future for all" Richard Ledger, President of FlyArystan

In April 2024, airline employees visited the Kanonersky branch to oversee the second stage – seedling cultivation. The branch houses Kazakhstan’s only forest nursery and seed station, equipped with Swedish technology designed for pine cone processing. This equipment allows for the extraction of high-quality seeds from the cones, which are then sown in peat substrate, eventually producing seedlings.

Thanks to FlyArystan’s sponsorship, more than one million Scots pine seedlings, grown using accelerated technology, were cultivated in greenhouses. As part of the project's final stage, the employees of Semey Ormany decided to plant seedlings in the Morozov branch's forestry area, aiming to contribute the restoration of the region’s ecosystem

FlyArystan will continue to monitor the growth of the seedlings and support initiatives that positively impact the regions of Kazakhstan, while also working to improve the social welfare of its citizens.
