A direct flight between Kazakhstan and Austria will be launched in the spring of 2025, DKnews.kz reports.
In the spring of 2025, Kazakhstan and Austria will be connected by a direct flight launched by SCAT Airlines. This development is the result of extensive negotiations and discussions held as part of the 9th Kazakhstan-Austria Business Council meeting. The Kazakh delegation, led by the Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Talgat Lastaev, included SCAT Airlines' Vice President Vladimir Sytnik and representatives of Kazakhstan's embassy in Austria. They held meetings with the Austrian State Secretary for Tourism, Susanne Kraus-Winkler, and Vienna Airport's CEO, Julian Jäger.
New Route — New Opportunities
The discussions at the business council focused on the opening of a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Austria, scheduled to begin in the spring of 2025. According to the agreements, the flight will operate twice a week, providing additional opportunities for the development of tourism and business relations between the two countries. Representatives from SCAT Airlines emphasized that the new route aims to reduce travel time and simplify logistics for Kazakh and Austrian tourists and businesspeople.
Tourism Support and Visa Issues
One of the key issues discussed during the meetings was visa support for travelers, a crucial step in stimulating tourism between Kazakhstan and Austria. The Austrian side confirmed its readiness to cooperate with its Kazakh counterparts in simplifying visa procedures for Kazakh citizens. This agreement creates conditions for increasing the attractiveness of Austrian destinations among Kazakhstani citizens and for boosting tourist flow from Kazakhstan.
Economic and Cultural Exchange
The launch of the direct flight is not only a significant event for the tourism industry but also an important step in strengthening economic and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Austria. Regular flights will provide convenient conditions for business travel, which will contribute to the growth of trade and investment flows between the two countries. It also lays the foundation for developing cultural exchanges and holding joint events, which may become new points of growth in the cooperation between the two nations.
Expectations and Future Prospects
The Kazakh side is confident that the launch of the direct flight will be an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and increasing citizen mobility. This project will become another example of Kazakhstan's successful interaction with European countries, confirming the country's aspiration to integrate into international transport and tourism networks.
In the future, work will continue to expand Kazakhstan's air connections with other European countries, which will increase the number of available routes for citizens and businesses and make travel more accessible and convenient.
