Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier FlyArystan has added the 26th aircraft to its fleet. The newly arrived Airbus A320 CEO, configured with 180 seats, will soon be put into operation and start serving the airline’s route network, DKnews.kz reports.
“The expansion of FlyArystan’s fleet is driven both by the growth of our route network and the need to meet consistently high demand for air travel. This is particularly important ahead of the peak summer season. New aircraft allow us to increase flight frequency and explore promising destinations. Among these is a new international route connecting Almaty with Yining (Kuldja) from May 18, 2025, offering a direct and efficient link between southern Kazakhstan and western China. This route opens up additional opportunities for tourism, business cooperation, and the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries” Richard Ledger, President of JSC FlyArystan
FlyArystan’s 26th aircraft has been named Sumbile, which translates from Kazakh as Sirius. It is the brightest star in the night sky, with a luminosity more than 25 times that of the sun. The name reflects FlyArystan’s aspiration to inspire passengers to explore new horizons.
As a reminder, the airline’s 25th aircraft – also an Airbus A320 CEO – was commissioned ahead of the Nauryz holiday to increase seat capacity on popular routes. In 2024, FlyArystan, a subsidiary of the Air Astana Group, received five Airbus aircraft. The Group’s total passenger traffic grew by 11.2% last year, reaching 9 million people, with FlyArystan making a significant contribution to this growth.
