Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Aim to Strengthen Historical Dialogue and Scientific Cooperation, DKnews.kz reports.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, met with the Director of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Ziyo Azamat Hamid Ugli. The talks focused on deepening cooperation between historians of the two countries, developing joint scientific projects, and preserving the common historical and cultural heritage of Central Asia.
During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are connected not only by geography and modern strategic partnership, but also by deep historical roots that trace back to the era of Turkic states and the Great Silk Road. He noted that the history of both nations evolved in close interaction, and today the academic community is faced with the task of reinterpreting and presenting this heritage as a unified, indivisible, and objective narrative.
Both parties expressed mutual interest in enhancing institutional cooperation, expanding archival research, promoting academic mobility, and launching joint publishing initiatives. Particular attention was given to the need to shape a shared understanding of the key historical stages of the region, free from external distortions and ideological frameworks.
As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to actively support the launch of work on creating a sustainable platform for long-term scientific cooperation between scholars of the two countries.
