5G-Advanced Enables All-Scenario IoT, Powering Smart Connectivity for Everyone, DKnews.kz reports.

Huawei has unveiled its AIoT development strategy built on 5G-Advanced during the GSMA IoT Summit, part of MWC Shanghai 2025.

At the GSMA IoT Summit, held within the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2025, Eric Zhao, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Wireless Solution, delivered a keynote address titled: "5G-A as the Driver of All-Scenario IoT: Accelerating a New Era of AIoT for All."

In his speech, Zhao emphasized how the synergy between the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is paving the way for smart connectivity across all domains — from industrial manufacturing to urban governance.

"To fully unlock the potential of AIoT, we need three key enablers: all-scenario IoT, ultra-broadband networks, and intelligent applications built on industry-specific models," said Zhao.

Key Highlights from the Speech:

  • All-Scenario IoT: Technologies like 5G RedCap and Ambient IoT are expanding connectivity to all types of devices, including industrial sensors, drones, and AI-powered robots.
  • Ultra-Broadband 5G-A Networks: These networks offer gigabit uplinks, ultra-low latency, and highly stable coverage — enabling massive real-time data transmission to cloud platforms and AI models.
  • Intelligent Applications: These are already proving effective. For example, a manufacturing site in Guangdong province deployed AI-powered 5G HD cameras, reducing repair costs by 20% and saving over 1 million yuan annually.

Zhao also noted that previously unconnected environments are now being integrated into the IoT ecosystem, creating opportunities for innovation — from autonomous power grid inspections to intelligent city management. Smart applications are playing an increasingly critical role, as shown by the rapid expansion of scenario-specific and industry-specific models.

To boost the efficiency of these models, vast amounts of high-quality data are essential. One smart factory in Guangdong has already embedded AI algorithms into 5G HD cameras to enable automated quality inspection. This not only enhanced product quality but also helped cut equipment repair costs by 20%, saving over 1 million yuan each year.

A Call for Industry-Wide Collaboration

Zhao concluded with a strong call to action for collective efforts across the industry to advance cellular IoT:

"We will continue to work with partners across industries to build more converged cellular IoT and AI applications. Our goal is to foster a thriving ecosystem and usher in a new era of fully intelligent IoT connectivity," Zhao stated.

MWC Shanghai 2025 took place from June 18 to 20 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). During the event, Huawei is showcasing its latest products and solutions in Hall N1.

As 2025 marks the beginning of large-scale 5G-Advanced deployment, Huawei reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with global operators, experts, and thought leaders to accelerate digital transformation and explore new growth opportunities powered by AI and intelligent connectivity.
