Kazakhstan Issues Strong Protest Over Attack on Caspian Pipeline Consortium Infrastructure, DKNews.kz reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has issued an official statement condemning yet another targeted attack on the critical infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) located in the waters of the Port of Novorossiysk. The announcement was delivered by MFA Spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov.
According to the Ministry, the incident represents the third deliberate act of aggression directed at a strictly civilian facility whose operations are regulated and protected by international law. The repeated attacks on the pipeline system raise serious concerns regarding regional and global energy stability.
Kazakhstan, as a responsible and long-standing contributor to the global energy market, emphasized its firm commitment to ensuring reliable, stable, and uninterrupted deliveries of energy resources. The Ministry underscored that the Caspian Pipeline Consortium plays a key role in maintaining the stability of the international energy system, and any disruption to its operations poses risks not only to regional security but also to the global economy.
The CPC pipeline remains one of the most significant routes for transporting Kazakh crude oil to world markets. Therefore, any targeted interference is viewed as a threat to broader energy security and international economic stability.
In its statement, the Ministry stressed that the incident is regarded as an action that harms bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The Kazakh side expressed expectations that Ukrainian authorities will take effective steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
The MFA reaffirmed that Kazakhstan will continue to closely monitor developments surrounding the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The government also reserves the right to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety and protection of its strategic energy infrastructure.
