In New Delhi, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India, Azamat Eskarayev, held a year-end meeting with India’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sibi George. The two sides reviewed the results of cooperation in 2025 and mapped out new priorities – from the economy and education to tourism and direct flights, DKNews.kz reports.
Positive momentum across key areas
According to Azamat Eskarayev, relations between Astana and New Delhi continue to grow steadily across several tracks: political, economic, cultural and educational.
Special attention was given to the 4th Meeting of Foreign Ministers in the “Central Asia – India” Dialogue, held in June. The format is becoming an important platform for shaping the future agenda of cooperation.
Economy in focus: expanding trade and diversification
Economic issues were discussed as a separate, priority area. Kazakhstan and India expressed interest in:
- boosting imports and exports
- diversifying the structure of trade
- identifying new growth opportunities for business and investment
The conversation went beyond traditional sectors, touching on industrial cooperation, technology and transport.
Tourism, education and easier travel
Cultural exchanges and tourism were also highlighted as important bridges between the two countries. The sides discussed:
- educational programs
- improved conditions for business travel
- broader tourism flows
Particular emphasis was placed on direct flights. Launching new routes to major Indian cities such as Hyderabad and Ahmedabad could open additional opportunities for tourism, business and student exchanges.

Preparing for the “Central Asia – India” Summit
Looking ahead, Kazakhstan and India are preparing for several high-level bilateral events, including the upcoming 2nd “Central Asia – India” Summit.
Sibi George confirmed India’s readiness to accelerate consultations between the foreign ministries, with the aim of developing concrete, practical steps to deepen dialogue.
Regular dialogue as a foundation for trust
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain regular contacts and continue advancing joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
