A meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan Abzal Saparbekuly and Prosecutor General of Hungary Gabor Balint Nagy took place in Budapest, highlighting the growing depth of cooperation between the two countries in the legal sphere, DKNews.kz reports.
The talks focused on expanding and strengthening interaction between the prosecution authorities of Kazakhstan and Hungary, with particular emphasis on mutual legal assistance - an area both sides consider strategically important in today’s interconnected world.
“A Just Kazakhstan” and Law Enforcement Reform
During the meeting, Ambassador Saparbekuly provided a detailed overview of the ongoing reform of Kazakhstan’s law-enforcement system. He emphasized that the transformation is being implemented in line with the principles of “A Just Kazakhstan” and “Law and Order”.
Special attention, he noted, is being paid to strengthening preventive legal supervision, especially within the prosecution system. The reforms also aim to enhance the protection of citizens’ and businesses’ rights, intensify anti-corruption efforts, and introduce modern digital solutions into law-enforcement practices.
The Ambassador also highlighted the high level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary in the field of international legal collaboration.
Hungary Praises Kazakhstan’s Legal Reforms
For his part, Prosecutor General Gabor Balint Nagy spoke highly of Kazakhstan’s domestic reforms, particularly in the legislative and legal spheres.
He recalled that he had been thoroughly briefed on the progress of these reforms during the visit of Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Aslambek Mergaliyev to Budapest on November 4, 2025. According to Nagy, these changes demonstrate Kazakhstan’s consistent efforts to modernize its legal system.
In this context, both sides stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the prosecution authorities of the two countries, including through the exchange of experience in legal and humanitarian fields.
Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Focus
Another key topic of discussion was the use of digital technologies in prosecutorial work. Gabor Balint Nagy noted that cooperation between the prosecution services of Kazakhstan and Hungary is already effective and constructive.
He shared Hungary’s experience in introducing digital tools within the prosecution service and expressed strong interest in exchanging expertise with Kazakhstan in the field of digitalization, including the application of artificial intelligence technologies.
Cooperation Oriented Toward the Future
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing and further developing close cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Office of the Prosecutor General of Hungary.
The dialogue demonstrated that Kazakhstan and Hungary view legal cooperation not only as a bilateral priority, but also as an important contribution to strengthening the rule of law, trust, and institutional development in the long term.
