Satybaldy Burshakov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to North Macedonia, held a meeting with the leadership of the European Economic Alliance for Cooperation with Asia, bringing together representatives of the business communities of North Macedonia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The talks focused on expanding economic cooperation and identifying new opportunities for partnership between Kazakhstan and the Balkan region, DKNews.kz reports.
Kazakhstan’s priorities and economic potential
During the meeting, Ambassador Burshakov briefed participants on Kazakhstan’s key foreign policy priorities, the country’s trade and economic potential, and the main messages from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s January interview with the Kazakh media. He подчеркнул Kazakhstan’s openness to pragmatic cooperation and its interest in building sustainable ties with European and regional business partners.
According to the ambassador, Kazakhstan positions itself as a reliable bridge between Europe and Asia, offering a stable market environment and growing opportunities for foreign companies.
New areas for trade and cooperation
Special attention was given to practical areas where cooperation could be expanded in the near future. Participants discussed prospects for boosting mutual trade and business contacts in:
- the agro-industrial sector,
- services,
- tourism,
- water conservation and sustainable resource management,
- and other promising fields.
Both sides noted that these sectors have strong potential for launching joint projects and increasing trade volumes.

Kazakhstan invites Balkan business to 2026 events
As part of efforts to promote closer engagement with the region’s business community, the Embassy of Kazakhstan presented a list of exhibitions and business conferences scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan in 2026. These events are expected to serve as practical platforms for establishing direct contacts, exploring market opportunities, and promoting Kazakh exports in Balkan markets.
Institutional support for cooperation
The meeting was held with the support of the Macedonian Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion, highlighting the institutional interest in strengthening economic ties between Kazakhstan and Balkan countries.
Observers note that such dialogue helps lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation, opening new avenues for Balkan companies in Central Asia while expanding Kazakhstan’s economic presence in Southeast Europe.
