Kazakhstan and Vietnam are steadily turning diplomatic ties into practical business cooperation. An online Kazakh–Vietnamese networking session was held at the Atameken Regional Office in Almaty, bringing together business institutions from Kazakhstan and representatives of Vietnam’s National Association of Entrepreneurship (ViNen), DKNews.kz reports.

The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vietnam and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and focused on direct dialogue between entrepreneurs, investors, and development institutions of the two countries.
Direct business dialogue without borders
Despite the online format, the discussion was highly practical. From the Kazakh side, the session was attended by the leadership of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” in Almaty, the Association of Exporters of Kazakhstan, and representatives of Almaty Invest. Vietnam was represented by ViNen’s leadership, the Vietnamese Textile and Clothing Association, and companies interested in launching projects in Kazakhstan.

The key objective was clear: to explore real opportunities for cooperation, investment, and market entry rather than limiting the discussion to general statements.
Ambassador: cooperation already has real results
In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam Kanat Tumysh emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral relations and the growing importance of trade and economic partnership.
“Currently, two companies with Kazakh capital – Cottecons and Kusto Group – are operating in Vietnam. In addition, six investment projects involving Vietnamese companies, including VinGroup, Sovico Group, Crystal Bay Tourism Group, ROX Group, and Mareven Food Central, are being implemented in Kazakhstan,” the Ambassador noted.
These examples highlighted that cooperation between the two countries is already moving beyond intentions to concrete projects.

Vietnam signals openness to Kazakh business
ViNen President Dinh Viet Hoa confirmed Vietnam’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan’s business community. He spoke about plans to hold regular B2B events, expand experience exchange, conduct joint market research, and organize training programs.
Kazakhstani companies were also invited to take part in business events organized by the Vietnamese side, opening additional channels for entering one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic markets.

Why Vietnam is in focus
Additional economic context was provided by Serik Amirov, Special Representative of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan in ASEAN countries. According to him, Vietnam stands out as one of the fastest-growing economies in the region.
With a population of around 102.3 million people, Vietnam became the ASEAN leader in GDP growth last year. Its economy expanded by 8.02%, reaching USD 514 billion. In 2025, foreign direct investment inflows totaled USD 38.4 billion, while the country’s total foreign trade volume exceeded USD 930 billion.
These figures underline Vietnam’s strong potential as a strategic partner for Kazakh exporters and investors.

From talks to joint projects
As a result of the networking session, the parties reached a preliminary agreement to continue cooperation and work on joint projects. Priority areas include light industry, food production, agriculture, tourism, education, information technology, healthcare, and other sectors.
The online meeting demonstrated how digital formats can effectively connect businesses across borders. For Kazakhstan and Vietnam, such direct engagement is becoming a practical tool for identifying new markets, attracting investment, and launching long-term partnerships that go beyond traditional diplomacy.
