Kazakhstan and Georgia are moving to give fresh momentum to their bilateral relations, with a clear focus on trade, investment, and transport connectivity. This was highlighted during a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev and Ambassador of Georgia Levan Diasamidze, DKNews.kz reports.
The talks confirmed that the relationship between Astana and Tbilisi remains grounded in long-standing friendship and partnership, while steadily adapting to new regional and global realities.
Political dialogue without pauses
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening Kazakh-Georgia relations. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining a regular and substantive political dialogue.
Yermek Kosherbayev noted with satisfaction the well-established contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries. According to him, inter-ministerial political consultations, along with the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, continue to serve as key mechanisms for advancing practical cooperation.
Economy and investment at the core
A significant part of the discussion focused on the development of trade, economic, and investment ties. Both sides expressed readiness to deepen cooperation, expand mutual trade, and create more favorable conditions for business initiatives.
In the context of shifting global supply chains, Kazakhstan and Georgia see growing potential in closer economic interaction, particularly in sectors linked to transit, logistics, and regional connectivity.
Transport and logistics: the strategic dimension
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, including projects within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, widely known as the Middle Corridor.
This route is increasingly viewed as a key bridge between Asia and Europe. Kazakhstan and Georgia play an important role in its development, and closer coordination between the two countries could significantly enhance transit flows, reliability, and competitiveness along the corridor.
Dialogue continues
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue a constructive dialogue across the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation.
The talks underscored that Kazakhstan and Georgia are not only maintaining strong political ties but are also actively shaping a forward-looking partnership, with trade, logistics, and connectivity emerging as central pillars of their shared agenda.
