Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier FlyArystan provided charitable support to young participants of the National Inclusive Games “Zhuldyzai,” helping children with special needs travel to winter sports competitions in Astana, DKNews.kz reports.

The Winter Inclusive Games took place on February 26–27 and brought together around 150 children and teenagers from across the country.

For many participants, it was more than a sporting event — it was their first trip outside their hometown and their first experience at a national competition.

Creating equal opportunities through sport

FlyArystan emphasized that supporting inclusive initiatives is part of its broader social responsibility policy.

Richard Ledger, President of FlyArystan JSC, noted:

“Supporting initiatives that create opportunities for the athletic development of children with special needs is an important contribution to building an inclusive society. We believe it is essential to back projects that ensure equal opportunities and help children realize their full potential.”

The airline’s assistance enabled young athletes to compete in:

  • cross-country skiing
  • speed skating
  • para ice hockey

Organizers say such events help children build confidence, develop social skills, and discover new opportunities through sport.

A meaningful experience for young athletes

The Games were organized by the BI-Juldyzai Corporate Charity Foundation, which has been implementing social projects to support children with special needs across Kazakhstan for 20 years.

Almagul Salimbayeva, Head of the Juldyzai Project, подчеркнула значение мероприятия:

“The National Inclusive Games ‘Zhuldyzai’ are one of the most significant events in the lives of our young athletes with special needs. For our children, such trips are not merely competitions, but an important step toward confidence, socialization, and new opportunities. We sincerely thank FlyArystan for supporting our children’s participation in the Winter Inclusive Games.”

Participants aged 10 to 16 competed in winter disciplines that require not only physical preparation but also resilience and teamwork.

Why inclusive sports matter

Experts say inclusive sporting events play a vital role in building a more accessible and compassionate society.

Such initiatives help to:

  • promote equal access to sports
  • strengthen social inclusion
  • encourage community support
  • empower children with special needs

FlyArystan’s involvement reflects growing corporate engagement in social development projects across Kazakhstan.

For the young athletes, however, the most important outcome was not medals, but the chance to compete, travel, and feel part of a larger community.
