Kazakhstan is stepping up cooperation with Israel — not only in diplomacy, but in technologies that could directly impact agriculture, logistics and energy in the future.

During a visit to southern Israel, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Israel, Daulet Yemberdiyev, met with leading innovation centers, infrastructure companies and high-tech businesses in Eilat and nearby regions, DKNews.kz reports.

The trip showed one important thing: Kazakhstan is increasingly interested in practical partnerships that can bring real technologies and investments into the country.

Why Israel Matters for Kazakhstan

Israel has long been considered one of the world’s strongest innovation hubs.

Despite limited natural resources and harsh climate conditions, the country became a global leader in:

  • water-saving technologies;
  • smart agriculture;
  • alternative energy;
  • food security solutions;
  • startup development.

For Kazakhstan — especially amid climate change and growing pressure on food and logistics systems — this experience is becoming increasingly valuable.

Fish, Algae and Future Food Technologies

One of the key stops during the visit was the National Center for Mariculture.

Israeli specialists introduced technologies for cultivating fish and algae using advanced water-saving systems and modern biotechnology.

At first glance, algae may sound unusual. But globally they are already being used in:

  • food production;
  • pharmaceuticals;
  • cosmetics;
  • biofuel development.

For Kazakhstan, where the agricultural sector is rapidly modernizing, such technologies could become part of future food security projects.

Experts also discussed research cooperation and possible partnerships with Kazakhstani institutions.

A New Trade Route Through the Red Sea?

Another major meeting took place at the Port of Eilat.

Together with the port’s CEO, Gideon Golbar, the Kazakh delegation discussed logistics cooperation and alternative trade routes between Kazakhstan and Israel.

Why is this important?

Global logistics chains have changed dramatically over the last few years. Countries are now actively searching for safer and faster transport corridors.

The Port of Eilat, located on the Red Sea, could potentially become part of broader regional trade connections linking:

  • Central Asia;
  • the Middle East;
  • Asian markets.

For Kazakhstan, diversification of export routes remains one of the key economic priorities.

Focus on Green Energy and Smart Agriculture

The delegation also visited innovative Israeli companies Airengy and Advance IP Ltd.

The companies presented developments in:

  • alternative energy;
  • sustainable technologies;
  • high-tech agriculture systems.

Israel is known for turning difficult climate conditions into technological advantages. Many local companies now export solutions used worldwide in agriculture and clean energy sectors.

Kazakhstan is also moving toward technological modernization and greener economic models, making such partnerships increasingly relevant.

More Than Diplomacy

The visit to southern Israel demonstrated that cooperation between Kazakhstan and Israel is becoming more practical and business-oriented.

The focus is no longer only on official meetings — but on technologies, investments and real economic projects.

And in a world where countries compete not only for resources but for innovation, partnerships like these could play an important role in Kazakhstan’s future economic strategy.
